Time to Seek the Lord!

I wonder if you have ever regretted not doing something, or acting upon advice when it has been given, or missing out on a bargain because you didn’t buy something when you had the opportunity. Sometimes we can spend too long deliberating about something, and the result is that we miss out on something which would have been great! To the other extreme, there are people who suffer from FOMO (Fear Of missing Out) and who will go to great lengths to buy, find, do, experience things just in case the opportunity doesn’t come along again!
 
Our reading from Isaiah today advises everyone to ‘Seek the Lord while he may be found’ (Isaiah 55:6). Only God knows the day and time when this invitation will cease to be, and in reality it could be today or in thousands of years time, but why take the risk of missing out on Eternal Life by putting it off, when you can do it right now, today?

These words in Isaiah were written about 550 years before the birth of Jesus. If it was urgent at the time of writing, it is certainly urgent now!
