Who, me?

Marilyn Appleby

who meOne of our readings today is about the conversion of Paul on the road to Damascus. I am sure no-one was more surprised than Paul at this sudden turn of events which changed him from ‘Persecutor’ to ‘Preacher’! Others who met him after his experience were also surprised, and a little wary, of this ‘new’ person. No-one expected it!

I wonder if you now find yourself doing something surprising, something you really never expected to be doing? For example, I wonder how many members of our Youth Band would have predicted they would be leading music worship as they do now sometimes, and how many of our preachers ever foresaw that they would be preaching at St Andrew’s?

Of course, we are all called to be servants for God, it is just a question of what that calling is. Never dismiss the fact that God calls YOU to serve him in some way or another. You will be surprised what he may equip you to do!

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17
