A message from Philippians
In our vicar Richard’s absence, the Forum meeting on Tuesday evening was led by Ian Martin and Mark Clabon, our Church Wardens. The meeting opened with the above verses from Philippians 4, and below are the main aspects presented to us as a guide for St Andrew’s at this challenging time:
REJOICE! There is much to celebrate at St Andrew’s. Paul tells us to rejoice! Celebrate and revel in him! We should seek to rejoice in the Lord despite our difficult situations.
BE GENTLE – Life’s not easy, the last thing we need is criticism and being disgruntled. We need to be like Jesus— gentle in the way we deal with each other and in how we raise issues. We are all part of the same body and we need to take care of it.
DO NOT BE ANXIOUS— God has St Andrew’s in his sight—he will strengthen us to keep going.
KNOW GOD’S PEACE—If we do the above and be thinking and focusing on the right kind of things, we will know God’s peace.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me —
put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
