These days, if you are taking a holiday, going to the cinema, reserving a hotel room or booking a table in a restaurant, it is not uncommon to book online. Often you do not even need a piece of paper or physical  ticket  to  show  that  you  have  booked. This is all very convenient, although I find it quite disconcerting—for my own peace of mind I still prefer to have the evidence in my hand!
It is such a relief, therefore, when you discover that you are expected and are welcomed, and any worries prove to be unfounded. When you arrive at the airport your name is on the passenger list, there is a room waiting for you at the hotel, there is a seat in the cinema, or a table reserved at the restaurant.

In John 14:2 it says: ‘My Father’s house has many rooms; if that
were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to
prepare a place for you?’

How comforting to know that Jesus has reserved a place already prepared for us with Him in heaven. We need no piece of paper, booking number or anything like that. All we need is trust and faith in Jesus Christ, the One who died to save us and who goes before us, ready to welcome us into His Kingdom.
