Alpha

Everyone Has Questions

AlphaLogo1
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view wherever they are in the world.

What is Alpha

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed manner which we run over nine weeks. It’s low key, friendly and fun. It’s supported by all the main Christian denominations. Over 27 million people worldwide have already attended Alpha.

First there's

Food...
Every evening we start with food and a time to get to know each other.

Then a

Talk...
Around thirty minutes long film. We explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, such topics as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Followed by

Discussion...
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

Here at St Andrews we will be running Alpha over nine thought provoking weekly sessions.

Each Alpha evening includes a good meal, an engaging film followed by time for discussion and space to ask questions.

We are calling our first Alpha evening A Taste of Alpha come once and see if you like it.
